This maple & walnut pickin' stick is very similar to Steve's other Maple and Walnut instrument, just made with less figured woods, hence the lower price point.

Of note, his instruments are even stronger than the average stick dulcimer because he always laminates the necks by adding a (usually) contrasting piece of wood, which only adds to the beauty of his instruments.  This is a step that no other builder we've encountered takes.

But How Does It SOUND?

Tell Us More About The Details!

This model is one of Steve's more economical ones, made mainly from hard maple and walnut with the cedar top, but sacrifices no volume or tonal quality whatsoever.

This is an excellent beginner-level stick dulcimer mainly because of the price.  But seriously, you cannot go wrong here.
